Health Services Assistance

This course imparts various skills and knowledge to students that will allow them to help registered nurses during patient care. It is a good course for students that want to begin their journey toward becoming a nurse and want to make a difference in people’s lives.

In this course, students can learn the following:

  • Understanding the functions of the human body and various medical terminologies.
  • Measuring and recording weight.
  • Taking important health markers of patients like blood pressure, temperature, blood glucose level, pulse rate, respiratory rate, etc, and recording it.
  • Recording intake/out-take on the fluid balance chart.

After the completion of this course, students will be able to create and implement a care plan, will be able to write reports, and will have the confidence needed to use electronic medical records.

The Diploma of Leisure and Health is your first step towards an extremely rewarding healthcare career. After completing this course, you will be able to work in various community settings as well as diversional therapy settings. Students will be able to carry out various responsibilities like designing, planning, and implementing leisure and health-related activities for patients after completing their diploma. Students require a minimum of 240 hours of placement to complete their diplomas.
